Artist Bio
Diane Sherman is a mixed media artist whose work explores how visual art shapes atmosphere and experience. Her paintings—ranging from abstract compositions to botanically inspired works with expressive elements—are created to invite pause and attention, offering moments of warmth and reflection within shared spaces.
Sherman studied Art History at University of California, Los Angeles and earned a master’s degree in Arts and Consciousness from John F. Kennedy University. Her interdisciplinary background continues to inform a practice that bridges visual art, poetry, and lived experience. The result is work that feels contemporary while remaining open and human.
Following a life-altering accident early in her career, Sherman deepened her understanding of art as a way to restore balance and awareness. This period clarified her belief in art’s capacity to quietly shift perspective. Rather than directing interpretation, her paintings create space—allowing viewers to bring their own presence and story into the work.
Sherman’s work is particularly suited to hospitality environments, where art becomes part of how a space is felt rather than simply seen. Her paintings integrate easily into a range of architectural and interior styles, offering visual continuity while supporting a sense of calm and connection.
Her paintings are held in private collections throughout California, Washington, Boston, New York, and other U.S. cities. She is also the author of Walkabout and In Borrowed Shoes.
