Tierra Viva: Works from Colombia
The Tierra Viva collection was created during a three-month, self-directed artist retreat in Colombia, South America. Working in mixed media on watercolor paper, each piece emerged from daily immersion in sound, scent, color, and movement.
Time was spent in the hills above Medellín, in a quiet cabin overlooking the city and surrounded by birds, as well as in the historic towns of Barichara and Villa de Leyva, and within the vibrant urban energy of Bogotá.
The resulting works are intuitive and layered, shaped by place rather than plan. They carry a sense of aliveness—earthy, rhythmic, and luminous—reflecting Colombia’s extraordinary vitality and offering viewers a feeling of movement, warmth, and connection.
